Leadership is.......

Boiled down, leadership is a simple thing. John C Maxwell says two things that I believe are irrefutable, "Everything stands and falls on leadership", and "Leadership is about influence, nothing more, nothing less". The leadership "thing" has become so overworked in recent years by "experts", psychologists, and "gurus".

Go to Amazon.com and search on Leadership and you will get OVER 250,000 choices. Some will be gold, a few will be ok, the vast majority pure dross. (No, I haven't read them all, but I have read many of the more highly recommended ones). Having consulted to literally hundreds of companies of all sizes over the last 25 years, and held leadership positions in a few, I believe that amidst some islands of excellence, the general level of leadership in industry today is extremely ordinary (I'm being polite).
